Do you wonder where to get great coffee in Edmonton, Alberta? If you do, this post is for you! After more than a decade of living here, I have compiled a list of my favourite places to grab coffee. Some of these places are coffee shops, some are bake shops, and some are bistros. Whether you want just a cup of coffee to go, coffee with brunch, or coffee with cake, there’s a place for you.
In no particular order here are my favourite places to grab coffee in Edmonton, Alberta:
Duchess Bake Shop
Duchess is famous for being one of the best bake shops in Edmontons. On a typical weekend, their cakes and pastries are often sold out between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. And just like the cakes and pastries, their coffee is also delicious. In fact, my favourite iced latte in town can be found at the Duchess Bake Shop. There are two locations (124th street and Ritchie Market), but only the one at 124th street serves coffee. Opening hours are Wednesday-Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sundays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Duchess is typically closed on holidays or the day(s) after a holiday. Check the website for updated menu and opening hours.
Wilfred’s
Wilfred’s is a cute bistro located downtown, in the Oliver square next to Brewery City Market. It currently shares its space with Made by Marcus ice cream, making it a perfect place for a meal/ snack, coffee and dessert! See their website for an updated menu and opening hours.

There are two locations, one in Garneau and one at Ritchie Market. Both locations serve coffee and a small selection of pastries. The current opening hours are Monday-Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. May be closed on certain holidays. Check the website before going for up-to-date opening hours.

Newly opened right next to Sunterra Market at Lendrum Place Shopping Centre. Krew Cafe is nested in a children’s clothing boutique. In addition to delicious coffee, matcha and other beverages, they also have pastries. There is indoor and sometimes outdoor (depending on weather) sitting. Krew Cafe is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. They are closed Sundays. Since the cafe is located in a children’s boutique and they also serve beverages such as hot chocolate, this is a great place to go with little ones.
